Dyplom ukończenia studiów
Uniwersytet Warszawski · 2006
I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Warsaw, within the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, where I specialised in audiovisual translation and working with specialist language, particularly medical English. I also completed a Bachelor’s degree in English language teaching methodology.
My approach to language has been shaped not only by formal education, but also by my experience with film. I took part in a year-long screenwriting course, as well as editing workshops at the Warsaw Film School. These experiences showed me how storytelling can be used as a powerful tool in teaching language.
I continue to develop my practice through training with organisations such as Cambridge University Press and International House London. That said, most of what I learn comes from working with people – from real conversations that naturally go beyond any lesson plan.
Outside of work, I tend to reach for literature, spend time learning Italian, and rarely go a day without a good coffee. I’m particularly drawn to British cinema rooted in realism – simple, attentive, and focused on people.
From my early years working as a teacher and translator, through a wide range of professional environments, to running my own language courses – Garden of English.
I have been working as a teacher and translator since 2002, supporting public institutions, companies, and cultural organisations.
I have taught in a variety of settings – from banks and insurance companies to military units and Polskie Radio. I also worked as a translator for the film distributor SPInka International.
Since 2007, I have been running my own language courses under the name Garden of English. I work mainly with adults and teenagers – preparing students for exams (including school-leaving exams and Cambridge Assessment English exams), supporting those planning to study abroad, and working with professionals in the medical field.
